The objective of SME Gateway is to provide a management system and processes for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to win new business. Contracts won are undertaken professionally using accepted Programme/Project management practices. To do this SME Gateway is the Contracts and Programme Manager with members performing work as subcontractors. For SME Gateway Limited work these functions are pre-negotiated with the various panel managers.

Risk mitigation is essential for all contracts. Member companies must be qualified to undertake subcontracts causing some candidate companies unacceptable. Since our members are engaged to conduct business under contract, claims of capability must be substantiated in order to allow Gateway to offer confirmed qualified resources to prospective customers and to manage contract risks.

Our membership criteria allow companies that are deficient in some requirements to join at a different classification while gaining full qualification status. SME Gateway Limited classifications are full membership as a Tier One member and Tier Two as a member in transition. Both levels are able to engage in contracts, but the Tier Two Member must be subcontracted to a Tier One company for contracts. Joining fees are different for these levels.

Joining Steps
To join, candidate members should read the information provided in this website and decide if SME Gateway satisfies the desired needs and expectations. We anticipate questions will arise that will require discussion for clarification. In that case we suggest you telephone or e-mail the SME Gateway CEO to have questions answered. Once questions are answered and the decision is made to explore membership further, the following steps should be taken:

Pay Membership Fees
Membership Activated
Complete the Qualification Questionnaire and submit via e-mail to the CEO for evaluation. The completed document will be held as Commercial-in-Confidence.
Your company application will be reviewed against the membership level requirements. The CEO will advise the outcome of the review.
If successful, a General Membership Agreement will be emailed for the appropriate membership level determined.
Complete and sign the General Membership Agreement as per instructions. Return all signed copies to SME Gateway Head Office. One copy will be signed and returned to you for your records.
On receipt of the invoice from SME Gateway, pay the one-time joining fee.
On receipt of payment, your company membership will be activated. SME Gateway will provide details on how to access the member portal to review business opportunities, submit quotations and access member only information.
