Stuart Althaus - Chief Executive
As the CEO of SME Gateway Stuart leads an exceptional team responsible for the collaboration and successful provision of services to Defence, Primes and Federal and State Government entities. This is achieved through leveraging the capability and expertise of its capable and diverse Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) member community. SME Gateway provides a Fundamental Input to Capability (FIC) to government but more specifically to Defence and the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) with many areas requiring niche skill sets.
Stuart plays a significant role in the greater ICT and Defence marketplace including an active role in the National Board for the Australian Industry Information Association (AIIA), the Chair for the ACT Australian Industry Defence Network (AIDN) and other special interest groups and industry bodies. His extensive experience and wide professional network have assisted in the forming of State and Federal Government policy, management of organisational direction and providing strategic advice for his clients.
Andy Stephens - Business Development Executive
Andy’s role is to drive the maintenance of SME Gateway’s current market presence and to develop and deliver new initiatives for the growth of the company.
Through the building of long-term relationships and engagement with Primes, Industry Groups and CoA stakeholders, Andy will lead the generation of future opportunities, liaising closely with the Board of Directors and the member-based Advisory Board in the development of SME Gateway’s future strategic focus.
Andy has held several senior and successful engineering, Sales, Marketing and Business Development roles since his completion of 24 years’ service in the Royal Navy as a Weapon Engineering Officer in 2004, with a strong focus on developing enduring relationships throughout.
He has worked with a number of international companies through his employment in the UK, the Middle East and Australia, has gained a wealth of commercial and project experience and a wide range of professional qualifications in leadership, management, engineering and project management.
Andy provides a diverse and strong input to SME Gateway’s strategic outlook and future success.
Peter Madden - General Manager
Peter’s primary role is to manage the operational aspects of SME Gateway to achieve optimum outcomes for Members and maximise the effective use of business assets and human resources.
Peter assists in the development and review of policies and plans, organising and controlling major functions relating to the operation and administration of the organisation.
Following 14 years in the Commonwealth public sector, Peter has worked for a number of large and small companies in a General Management capacity for over 25 years. He has had Branch Manager, General Manager and Managing Director roles as well as being CIO for Ross Human Directions for a number of years.
Natilie Harvey
Natilie’s main role as Operations Manager is to ensure that the day-to-day operations of SME Gateway run smoothly, effectively and efficiently. This includes setting targets for the operations team and ensuring that deadlines are met - holding overall accountability for the distribution of RFQs to Members and the preparation and submission of compliant responses to the relevant Commonwealth agencies.
In addition, Natilie is also responsible for the facilitation and establishment of awarded contact(s) for Clients and Members and is the main point of contact for any issues during the conduct of a job. This includes replacement of resources, facilitation of extensions and any other contractual requirements.
